Host family

I know where I'm going!!!! It's so great, I'm so happy. I got my conformation papers, and I'm going to Stord, which is on an island just south of Bergen. I'm very excited. I emailed my host parents yesterday, and I'm waiting to find out about my host family- it's so great. I'll keep you posted.

Garg!!!! We (the outbounders!) just got out of the presentation, and it was beautiful all day outdoors, and I was cooped up. I liked listening to the other presentations, but it was SOOOO WARM. Maybe tomorrow I can go on a walk on the beach. Jakob and I are the only kids who don't know their host families yet, so I'm getting antsy- but I'm not worried. At least I'm not alone. If everyone had known in March, and I was the only one at the beginning of May, then I might be a bit more on the side of chewing my nails and pulling my hair. But, I'm not, and when it comes, it comes. Just means that the right host family is still out there, and they'll be fantastic when I do get them.
I sound like I'm talking about winning a prize in a claw machine.
I'm doing pretty good on fund raising- my GT coordinator has helped me organize a raffle, and I'm putting up penny cans all over my school and town. Every bit helps, right?
Still looking for a job.

Meh. Off to write about the French Revolution.

Well, I still don't know

Not too sure where I'm going yet. But -- Eventually.
I'm trying to be consistent with my blog check-ins, but I'm not doing so well because not too much has been changing. I'll keep updating, though. Something's bound to change.

My first post

I was told I should start blogging about the foreign exchange experience as soon as I could, and since I thought up what I think is really a snazzy name, I decided I should use it.
My nerves are still all over the place (even though I learned I was going to Norway a month ago!). I guess it's just usual jitters. I got my passport like, two days ago, so that was exciting (and yes, I remembered to sign it). I'm learning a lot about Norway from this thin little book called Culture Smart! Norway. I would recommend the series to anyone going out of the country because it doesn't just tell you what the sign to the bathroom will look like, it tells you what you should bring as a housewarming gift, if you should jump in if the conversation is moving too slow (NO! Bad idea- Norwegians actually think before they speak), or what Russ day actually is.
I'm really psyched, but I'm taking everything really seriously so that I can get there without any major hiccups. I'm waiting around for my verification so I can contact the travel agency and set up my visa and flight. Snakke med du snart!
